Obituary

Willadene Joy Moore, the daughter of Leon and Carrie (Perkins) Putnam, was born September 14, 1931 in Oakland, IA. She died September 21, 2015 at the Methodist Hospital in Omaha, NE at the age of 84 years and 7 days.


Willadene attended school at Oakland. On October 7, 1949 she was united in marriage to Louie Wilbern Moore in Clarinda, IA. They lived in Oakland, Griswold, and Elliott. Willadene worked for Thomas D. Murphy Company in Red Oak. After the death of Louie on February 25, 1990 Willadene moved into Griswold. Willadene retired from Thomas D. Murphy Company after 29 years and began working part time for A Plus Designs. Willadene maintained her home in Griswold until the time of her death.


Willadene was a member of the Griswold Central Church of Christ. She enjoyed dancing, working in her garden, and mowing. Willadene had traveled to every state except Hawaii and spent her winters in Arizona. She was famous for her blonde chocolate chip brownies and bread rolls. Most of all, Willadene's family was the most important thing in her life.


She is preceded in death by her husband Louie; her parents; her brothers and sisters: Phyllis Wilson, Dale Putnam, Gene Heiman, Daryl Putnam, and Pat Putnam; and her special friend Larry Nickel.


Willadene is survived by her children: Douglas Moore and Barry Moore of Griswold, and Tami Kyle and Paul Cavin of Papillion, NE; her grandchildren, Sumer Sandholm and husband Brett of Red Oak, IA and Becca Wyman and Collin Wyler of La Vista, NE; her great grandchildren, Chase and Kyler Sandholm of Red Oak, IA; her brothers and sisters: Don Putnam, Bonnie Longcor, Judy Shanno, Karen Sorensen, and Linda King; and her sister-in-law Nadean Stambaugh. She is also survived by her nieces, nephews, other relatives, friends, and her Arizona family in Apache Junction, AZ.


Funeral services will be on Friday, September 25, 2015 at 10:00 AM at the Central Church of Christ in Griswold. Interment will be in the Griswold Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be on Thursday evening from 5-7 PM at the Duhn Funeral Home in Griswold. Duhn Funeral Home in Griswold is in charge of arrangements.
