WALTER DELL CARR
Walter Dell Carr, the son of Wayne Francis and Vera Hope (Graybill) Carr, was born July 25, 1929 in Carson, IA and died December 2, 2011 in Council Bluffs, IA at the age of 82 years, 4 months, and 7 days.
Walter graduated from Carson High School and then attended college at Creston. Walter was married to Bernice Eckert on August 22, 1950 in Hiawatha, KS. He worked for Council Bluffs Water Works as a water meter reader and meter repairman. Walter and Bernice made their home in Carson until recently when they moved to Council Bluffs.
Walter was a fifty year member of the Knights of Pythias. He enjoyed playing baseball, coaching, hunting, fishing, and playing with his dog.
Walter is preceded in death by his parents, and his brother Ken.
He is survived by his wife Bernice of Council Bluffs; his children: Michael of Carson, IA, Monty of Gilman, IA, Marta of Council Bluffs, IA, Marcia of Wenachee, WA, Michelle of Grinnell, IA, Myron of Carson, IA, and Meredith of Grinnell, IA; and many grandchildren. He is also survived by many other relatives and friends.
Private family interment was held on Thursday, December 9, 2011 at the Carson Cemetery.
