Virginia Ann Cain, the daughter of Preston and Anna (Duerr) Massey, was born February 1, 1923 and died July 11, 2013 at the Oakland Manor Nursing Home in Oakland at the age of 90 years.

Virginia attended school at Carson. On May 10, 1942 she was united in marriage to Merlyn "Spike" Cain. They lived in Oakland and Virginia worked as a payroll clerk for Cain Brothers Construction. After Merlyn died, she continued to live in Oakland. She moved to Oakland Manor Nursing Home in 1997. Virginia enjoyed shopping and reading. She especially loved spending time with her grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband, her parents, two sisters, and three brothers.

She is survived by her children: Steve Cain and wife Bev of Oakland, IA, Linda Martens and husband Terry of Lees Summit, MO, and Gary Cain And wife Diane of Tucson, AZ; her grandchildren: Tami, Rod, Doug, Dean, Jennifer, Christy and Greg; her great grandchildren: Braden, McKenna, Chase, Hannah, Addie, Cameron, Olivia, Nick, Taylor, Jordan, Lucas, Alexa, Alyssa, and Katelyn; and two great great grandchildren, Ainslee and Tenslee. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 15, 2013 at 11:00 AM at the Oakland Christian Church. Visitation with the family will be held on Sunday at the Oakland Christian Church from 2-4 PM. Interment will be at the Oaklawn Cemetery. Rieken Vieth Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
