Violet B. Reimers

Violet B. Reimers, the daughter of Morris and Violet (Nielsen) Christensen, was born in Omaha, NE on April 27, 1930 and died October 16, 2010 at Mercy Hospital in Council Bluffs, IA at the age of 80 years, 5 months, and 19 days.


Violet attended school in Omaha. She was united in marriage to Paul Reimers. Violet had worked at Brandeis, Controlled Data, and several dress shops at the Westroads.


Violet enjoyed going to garage sales, playing bingo, and cooking. She especially enjoyed planting flowers and doing other yard work.


Violet is preceded in death by her husband Wallace Paul Reimers and her son Gordon "Jerry" Welch.


She is survived by her children: Kristina Reimers and husband Scott, Janell Aurora and husband Patrick, and Sharon Gruhn and husband Ron; seven grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; her sister Mildred Spellman; and her brothers Pete, Tom, Raymond, and Ted Christensen. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.


Graveside services will be held on Tuesday October 19, 2010 at 10:30 AM at the Westlawn Hillcrest Cemetery at 60th and Center in Omaha. There will be no visitation or viewing before the service. Rieken Vieth Funeral Home in Oakland is in charge of arrangements.
