Vicky Raye Travis, the daughter of Lester and Shirley (Christensen) Fay, was born on January 4, 1952, in Atlantic, Iowa. She died on December 1, 2019, at the Cass County Memorial Hospital in Atlantic, Iowa, at the age of 67 years, 10 month, and 28 days.

Vicky grew up in Lewis, where she attended school. She then graduated from Griswold Community High School with the class of 1970.  Vicky and Doug were united in marriage on July 14, 1969, at the Lewis Church of Christ.  To this union, two children were born, Mike and Michelle.  She worked in many professions, including working at a nursing home, as a waitress, selling insurance, and owning and running the café in Lewis.  Vicky later returned to school and received an associated degree in Business Law from Iowa Western Community College. She then worked at DeLong's in Atlantic and baked caramel rolls and breads for Treynor Java Supply.

Vicky was a member of the Lewis Church of Christ and was the Secretary/Treasurer of the Senior Citizen's Home.  She loved spending time with the grandkids, sewing, crafting, riding the motorcycle, and owning and operating their traveling homemade ice cream business.

Vicky is preceded in death by her parents; and her father-in-law, Harry Travis.

Vicky is survived by her husband of over 50 years, Doug of Lewis, IA;, her son Mike (JoEllen) Travis of Treynor, Iowa; her daughter Michelle (Everett) Cray of Lamoni, Iowa; her grandchildren: Clare, Anthony, Gabe and Karsyn; her brothers: Steve, Eldon and Brett; and  her mother-in-law Betty Travis of Exira, Iowa.  She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

A memorial service will be on Friday, December 6, 2019, at the Central Church of Christ in Griswold, Iowa. The visitation will be Thursday, December 5 ^th at the Central Church of Christ in Griswold from 5:30 to 7:30 PM.  Rieken Duhn Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
