Thomas Johns Bartlett, the son of Kenneth and Joan (Johns) Bartlett, was born March 29, 1948 at Council Bluffs, IA and died November 15, 2013 at his home in Oakland, IA at the age of 65 years, 7 months, and 8 days.
Tom attended school in Oakland, graduating from Oakland High School with the class of 1966. After graduating, he attended college in El Paso, TX for a short time before enlisting in the Navy. After his discharge, Tom worked for Hughes Aircraft in California. He moved back to Iowa in 1997.
Tom enjoyed working on his computer, shooting his guns, going to the movies, and eating sushi.
He is preceded in death by his father Kenneth.
He is survived by his daughter Stephanie Bartlett of Omaha, his mother Joan Bartlett of Oakland, IA; his brother Jeff Bartlett of Oakland, IA; and Muan Bartlett of California.
A prayer service will be held on Wednesday, November 20, 2013 at 6:00 PM at the Rieken Vieth Funeral Home in Oakland. The prayer service will be followed by visitation with the family until 8:00 PM. Interment will be held at a later date. Rieken Vieth Funeral Home in Oakland is in charge of arrangements.
