Teri Lee Leighton, the daughter of Larry A. and Mable Jean (Sanny) Anderson, was born October 30, 1959 in Atlantic, IA and died January 9, 2014 at her home in Atlantic, IA at the age of age of 54 years, 2 months, and 10 days.


Teri attended school at Griswold, and graduated from Griswold High School with the class of 1978. Upon graduation, she worked for Anderson Construction Company building steel buildings before going to work at Glacier in Atlantic. She lived in the Griswold area before moving to Atlantic. She lived in Atlantic until the time of her death.


Teri enjoyed researching genealogy. She enjoyed watching reality T.V. shows, sewing, doing crafts, making quilts, and her cat. She especially cherished the time she spent with her son Jacob and her granddaughter Ariana.


Teri was preceded in death by her parents; her brother Jeffery; her niece Jessica Wyman; her grandparents; and her step mother Marla Anderson.


She is survived by her brothers and sisters: Jean (Donnie) Cohrs of Lewis, Chuck (Diane) Anderson of Griswold, Lauri (Lee) Wyman of Griswold,Sheri (Mark) Walter of Atlantic, John Anderson of Lincoln, NE, and Roy Anderson of North Platte, NE,; and her nieces and nephews – Bill, Jenny and Sarah Cohrs, April Kane, Holly Carlson, Amanda and Daniel Wyman, and Kaitlynn, Bailey and Dawson Walter. She is also survived by many other nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.



A memorial visitation will be held on Monday, January 13, 2013 from 5-7 PM at the Duhn Funeral Home in Griswold. Private family interment will be held at Oakwood Cemetery in Lewis at a later date. Duhn Funeral Home in Griswold is in charge of arrangements.
