Obituary

Teresa Faith Wells-Randels, was born August 10, 1955, in Des Moines, Iowa. She passed away on June 9, 2026, at her home in Macedonia, Iowa, at the age of 70 years, 9 months, and 30 days.

Teresa grew up in Des Moines and attended Delaware Elementary and SouthEast Polk schools for her early education. She completed her high school years at Underwood and SouthEast Polk High School before attending Area 11 Community College in Ankeny, Iowa.

Throughout her career, Teresa held several positions reflecting her diverse skills and interests. She worked for Meredith Publishing Corporations in Des Moines as a media selection clerk. She later took on roles as a cash office clerk at Wal-Mart and as a decorating consultant and team builder for Home Interiors and Gifts in Bellevue, Nebraska. Teresa also worked as a night auditor and desk clerk at the Best Western Crossroads in Council Bluffs, Iowa, and guest services at Ameristar Casino.

Teresa had a passion for home decorating, gardening, crafts, floral arrangements, traveling and spending time with her family. These interests were an integral part of her life and brought her much joy.

She is survived by her sons, Matthew Swinehart and Donald Wells; her daughter, Carrie Swinehart; Daughter-in-law Margaret Swinehart and her grandchildren, Trevor, Ryan, Lilian, Kainan, Ellie, and Averie. Teresa also leaves behind her stepmother, Donna Nicodemus, and her three brothers, Jeff Nicodemus, Scott Miles, and Larry Nicodemus and sister-in-law Betty Miles.

Teresa was preceded in death by her father, Charles Nicodemus Sr.; her mother, Patricia Johnson-Sutton; and her brother, Charles Nicodemus Jr.

Teresa Faith Wells-Randels will be remembered by family and friends for her dedication, creativity, and the warm presence she brought to those around her.

Inurnment of cremated remains will be held on Tuesday, June 16, 2026, at 10:30 AM, at the Macedonia Cemetery.  Rieken Vieth Funeral Home in Oakland is assisting the family.
