Obituary

Sheri Rush, 47, of rural Griswold, IA, died Wednesday evening, August 8, 2012, at her home.

Sheri Ann Kline was born in Atlantic, IA, on October 19, 1964, to Jerry and Eloyce (Tietz) Kline. She graduated from Griswold High School in 1983 and then graduated from Cosmotology School in Council Bluffs. On September 1, 1984, she and Kenneth Lee Rush married at the Central Church of Christ in Griswold. They had three children, whom they raised on a farm outside of Griswold. Sheri stayed home with the kids and homeschooled them. Sheri was a member of the Evangelical Free Church in Atlantic and led and was involved in many women's Bible Studies. She enjoyed sewing and making quilts, painting, gardening, cooking, canning and redecorating her home. Over the years, Sheri worked for Touch of Style Beauty Salon, Fareway, Zook Family Chiropractic, Body Basics Chiropractic, Heartland Book Design, she also had her own home-based businesses.

Sheri was diagnosed with cancer seven years ago and has fought a courageous battle.

Preceding her in death were her grandparents.

Survivors include her husband Kenny of Griswold, her children: Macala (Chris) Taulborg (grandson Brom) of Omaha, Melanie (fiancé Mark Casteel) Rush of Omaha, and Keith Rush of Griswold, her parents Jerry and Eloyce Kline of Griswold, and her parents-in-law, Howard and Doris Rush of Griswold. Also surviving are her brothers: Greg Kline of Omaha; Kraig Kline of Camdenton, MO; Mitch (Julie) Kline of Griswold, and her brothers-in-law and sister-in-law: Kelly (Mary) Rush of West Des Moines, Kevin (Gena) Rush of Griswold, and Karla (Mike) Schumacher of Adel as well as several nieces and nephews.

A celebration of Sheri's life will be held on Monday, August 13, 2012, at the Evangelical Free Church in Atlantic at 10:30am, Pastors Don McLean and Terry Schoenfeld officiating. Burial will be in the Pleasant Township Cemetery south of Griswold. Open visitation will be at the Duhn Funeral Home in Griswold beginning Saturday at noon and then on Sunday at 2:00pm at the Griswold Community Building. The family will be at the community building Sunday from 4:00 to 7:00pm.
