Scott James Wagner, the son of James Glen and Sandra Kay (Paulsen) Wagner, was born March 25, 1964 in Greenfield, IA.
Scott attended grade school at Lewis and then graduated from Griswold High School with the class of 1982. He worked in Oakland for several years and then moved to Wichita, KS for a short time before returning to Griswold. Scott drove a truck for Hansen Egg Company before going to work for Nestle Foods. He returned to Hansen Egg Company and worked there until failing health caused him to retire.
Scott loved spending time in Okoboji and Colorado. He enjoyed NASCAR and was a big St. Louis Cardinals fan.
Scott passed away at the Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha on March 27, 2015 at the age of 51 years and 2 days. Despite a spirit that wanted to continue fighting, his body no longer had the strength to prevail.
Scott is preceded in death by his grandparents; and his uncle Richard Paulsen.
He is survived by his parents Jim and Sandy Wagner of Griswold, IA; his sister Amy Bouchard and husband Chris of Treynor; his nephews Taylor and Tanner; and his aunts Karen Milne and husband Dave, Shirley Merritt, and Ann Paulsen. He is also survived by many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 31, 2015 at 10:30 AM at the Central Church of Christ in Griswold. An open visitation will be held on Monday at the Duhn Funeral Home in Griswold from 9:00 AM until noon and then at the Central Church of Christ after 1:00 PM. Visitation with the family will be from 5-7 PM on Monday at the Central Church of Christ in Griswold. Interment will be at Pleasant Township Cemetery south of Griswold. Duhn Funeral Home in Griswold is in charge of arrangements.
