Sara Rayne Venatta, the daughter of Timothy Wayne Venatta and Angelic Renee Reed, was born September 3, 1997 in Southaven, MS. She died June 23, 2017 near Villisca, IA, at the age of 19 years, 9 months, and 20 days.
Sara lived in St. Louis, MO, Sarasota, FL, Humboldt, AZ and Naples, FL, before moving to Lewis, IA in 2002. She attended school at Lewis and Griswold, graduating from Griswold High School with the class of 2015. Sara attended college at Northwest Missouri State University and had also taken classes from Iowa Western Community College. For the last six years, she had lived in Elliott.
Sara was very energetic and participated in many different activities. While at Griswold Community Schools she participated in cheerleading, band, jazz band, chorus, speech, the yearly musical, quiz bowl, National Honor Society, and FCCLA. She enjoyed spending time with the Central Church of Christ Youth Group. Sara liked listening to country music, watching Dr. Who, pickles, penguins, and purple unicorns.
Sara is preceded in death by her grandmother Cheryl Reed; and her aunt Shauna Greene.
She is survived by her parents Timothy Venatta, and Angelic Venatta and Steve Evans; her brothers and sisters: Brandon, Brianna, Ryan, Kindra, and Broedy; her grandparents: Ronald Reed, Ed and Mary Venatta, and Joe and Ila Evans; her aunts and uncles: Gail and Larry Brickel, Eddie Venatta, and Tamara Venatta; her partner Adam Svoboda; and five cousins. Sara is also survived by many friends.
Funeral service will be Wednesday, July 12, 2017 at 11:00 AM at the Church of Christ in Griswold, Iowa. Visitation will be Wednesday, July 12, 2017 starting at 9:30 AM at the Church of Christ until the time of the funeral. Interment will be at the Hillside Cemetery in Elliott, Iowa. Rieken Duhn Funeral Home in Oakland is in charge of arrangements.
