Ryan James Perdue was born on June 4, 1983, the son of James Albert Denny and Debra Kay Perdue. He grew up in the Griswold and Red Oak areas and attended school in both towns. Following his schooling, he worked in the construction industry as a drywall installer and painter. On October 13, 2006, he married Beth Booher at Red Oak. For the last year Ryan was delivering newspapers for the Omaha World Herald and the Des Moines Register. According to his many-many friends and family, Ryan had a "Heart of Gold", a laugh that would lighten up any room, and was always available to lend a hand when someone needed help. He will always be remembered as a devoted father.
Ryan died in an auto accident north of Stanton, IA on June 15, 2012 at the age of 29 years and 11 days. He was preceded in death by his father James and his grandfather Russell Boseck.
Survivors include his son Corey of Griswold, his grandmother Rose Boseck of Griswold (with whom he and Corey made their home); his mother Debra Perdue (special friend Tracy) of Sioux City and his paternal grandparents Mary and Steve Maxell of Atlantic; his half-sisters Danielle, Jamie, Grace and Sara; his aunt Candy (uncle Sam) Erichsen; and his cousins Niki (Brian Baker) Erichsen and son Jake, Amy (Jared Zimmerman) Penry and Tori (Lauren) Connet and sons James and Jase, all of Sioux City. Also surviving are his estranged wife Beth of Red Oak, other relatives and his many friends.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, June 19, 2012 at 11:00 AM at the Central Church of Christ in Griswold, Tony Brandt officiating. Burial will be held at a later date. Open visitation will be at the Duhn Funeral Home in Griswold where the family will be present from 6:00 to 7:30 Monday evening.
