Ruth (Dewitt) Alexander's Obituary
Ruth (Dewitt) Alexander was born December 22, 1913 in Griswold, Iowa. She was the only child of Guy L. DeWitt and Addie (Madden) DeWitt. A graduate of Griswold High School "Class of 1931", she died at the age of 102, at her daughter and son-in-law's home in Clifton, VA.
Ruth is survived by her daughter Regena (Alexander) Pratt and husband William L.; her two grandchildren Michelle (Pratt) Beeman and husband John and Emmett J. Pratt and wife Susan; and her great grandchildren: Anna Beeman, Lauren Pratt, and John William Pratt, all of the Northern Virginia area.
She is preceded in death by her husband John R. Alexander, who was also born and raised in the Griswold area and a graduate of Griswold High School in 1931.
Graveside services will be held on Saturday, May 14, 2016 at 1:30 PM at the Whipple Cemetery west of Griswold. Reverend Dwight Grosvenor officiating. Duhn Funeral Home in Griswold is in charge of arrangements.
