Russell L. "Rusty" Boseck, 81, of Griswold, IA, died Wednesday evening October 1, 2008, at the Griswold Care Center in Griswold.
Russell Lester Boseck was born at Griswold on November 26, 1926, the son of Edward Adolph "Ed" and Ruth Viola (Billings) Boseck. He attended rural schools and after that began farming. He was a life long farmer. He was married to Betty Chapman and later, on September 13, 1966, he married Rose Marie Perdue at the Central Church of Christ in Griswold. Rusty was a member of the Odd Fellows Lodge and enjoyed traveling, visiting his brothers and loved his animals and even had them named. He entered the Care Center in December 2007.
Survivors include his wife Rose of Griswold, his son Russell of Griswold, and two stepdaughters: Candy Erichsen (Sam) and Deb Perdue (special friend Tracy Johnson) both of Sioux City, IA. Also surviving are his 5 grandchildren, 4 great-grandsons, and his sister Marilyn Euans of Elliott, IA.
His parents, his three brothers, Beryl, Cecil and Jerrold, and one grandson, Cory Perdue, preceded Rusty in death.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 4, 2008 at 2:00 PM at the Central Church of Christ in Griswold, Mike Fabian officiating. Burial will be in the Pleasant Township Cemetery. Open visitation will be at the Duhn Funeral Home in Griswold and the family will be present from 6:00 to 8:00 Friday evening.
