Obituary

RONALD REHFELDT

Ronald Richard Rehfeldt, the son of George Richard and Shirley Maxine (Reid) Rehfeldt, was born December 2, 1947 at Council Bluffs, IA and died December 20, 2011 at the University of Nebraska Medical Center at the age of 64 years and 18 days.


Ronald attended school in Council Bluffs, graduating from Thomas Jefferson High School with the class of 1966. While in high school, he worked at Omaha Standard. After graduating, he spent some time working on a dam in Washington State. Ron was drafted into the Army and was sent to Vietnam where he served his country. After being honorably discharged from the service, he returned to Iowa and worked as a diesel mechanic for several different companies including Peterbuilt in Council Bluffs, Schueman's Trucking, and most recently Emken Trucking. On July 21, 1979 he was united in marriage to Willadeen "Willie" Elliott Bowes. Together they raised six boys: Troy, Trevor, Eric, Jeff, Stacy, and Phillip.


Ronald enjoyed fishing, golfing, watching birds, and NASCAR. He especially loved to spend time with his family.


He is preceded in death by his parents.


Ronald is survived by his wife Willadeen of Oakland; his sons: Troy Richard Rehfeldt and wife Crystal of Council Bluffs, Trevor Scott Rehfeldt of Council Bluffs, and Eric John Rehfeldt and wife Kelly of Walnut; his step sons: Jeffrey Scott Bowes and wife Michelle of Seguin, TX, Stacy Andrew Bowes and wife Xiomara of West Minster, MD and Phillip Matthew Bowes and friend Desta of Council Bluffs; his grandchildren: Kira, Chris, Dustin, Alaysa, Jordan, Tyden, Tori, Ian, Charlie, Charlene, Zane, and Caden; his brother Mike Rehfeldt and wife Denise of Fergus Falls, MN; and his sister Virginia Mae Rehfeldt of Council Bluffs, IA. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.



Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 27, 2011 at 10:30 AM at the Oakland United Methodist Church. Visitation will be held at the Oakland United Methodist Church on Monday evening from 5-7 PM. Rieken Vieth Funeral Home in Oakland is in charge of arrangements.
