Ronald James "Jim" White's Obituary
Ronald James "Jim" White, the son of Ronald and Marie (Elliott) White, was born February 26, 1942 at home in Carson, IA. He died January 19, 2016 at the Montgomery County Memorial Hospital in Red Oak, IA, at the age of 73 years.
Jim graduated from Oakland High School with the class of 1959. Upon graduation, he went to work for his brother-in-law Hans Nielsen on the farm. On September 24, 1960 he was united in marriage to Janice Krummel in Avoca, IA. They moved to California for nine years before moving back to Griswold in October of 1969. Jim worked at FS in Griswold for many years before becoming a truck driver. He drove a truck until his retirement in 2006. After retiring, he returned to FS, where he worked part time until his death.
Jim was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Griswold. He enjoyed working in his yard (especially mowing with his zero turn radius mower), camping, fishing, watching Wheel of Fortune, and playing on the computer. He loved spending time with his grandchildren. Jim loved to tell jokes and tease people.
Jim is preceded in death by his parents; his son Jonathon; two brothers Craig and Phillip; his grandson Logan; and his brothers-in-law Russell Clark and Hans Nielsen.
He is survived by his wife Janice of Griswold, IA; his daughters Michelle Moore of Gallup, NM and Laura Clement and husband Clay of Hancock, IA; his grandchildren: Kylia Harrell and husband Derek of Springfield, MO, Nick Wright of Carson, IA, Nate Wright of Carson, IA, Emily Moore of Gallup, NM, Colin Moore of Gallup, NM, Brendan Moore of Gallup, NM, Dakota White of Des Moines, IA, and Makelti White of Red Oak, IA; his great grandchildren, Makenzie and Marshall Harrell; his brothers Gary White and wife DJ of Yuma, AZ, and Mick White and wife Susan of Moreno Valley, CA; his sister Joyce Clark of Oakland, IA; and his sisters-in-law Joyce Nielsen of Harlan, IA and Pam Lees and husband John of Montrose, CO. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, January 23, 2016 at the Faith Lutheran Church in Griswold. Visitation with the family will be on Friday evening from 5:00 PM until 7:30 PM at the Duhn Funeral Home in Griswold. Interment will be in the Griswold Cemetery at a later date. Duhn Funeral Home in Griswold is in charge of arrangements.
