Romona Lee Reed, the daughter of Pearl and Madge (Duff) Haworth, was born January 11, 1929, in Omaha, NE and died March 12, 2015 at Chestnut Ridge Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, in Cumming, GA at the age of 86.

Romona attended school at Griswold, graduating from Griswold High School with the class of 1947.  On February 1, 1948 she was united in marriage to Bill Reed at Griswold.  Romona lived in California while Bill was in Boot Camp.  She returned to the Griswold area and worked in Omaha while Bill served his country in Korea.  When Bill returned to the United States, they lived in Norfolk, VA before returning to the family farm near Elliott.  Romona worked as a bookkeeper for Howell's Feed Store in Lyman, Fullerton Lumber in Griswold and West Central in Red Oak.  She also sold Avon and was recognized as a member of the President's Circle for 6 years in a row.  After Bill's death in 1999, Romona moved into Griswold.  She lived in Griswold until 2012, when she moved to Alpharetta, GA to be closer to her daughter, Stephanie.

Romona was a member of the Elliott Church of Christ.  She enjoyed reading, and canvas needle point.   She was an excellent seamstress and had made clothes for her children and a wedding dress for her niece.  She had been a member of the Happy Hour Club and was on the Board of Directors with the Lord's Closet in Griswold for many years.

While living in Alpharetta, she made many new friends and built a strong relationship with her son-in-law, Ken's, mother, Aveline, and family.      She was honored at a visitation on Sunday, March 15, 2015, at McDonald and Son's Funeral Home & Crematory in Cumming, GA.

Romona is preceded in death by her husband, Bill; her parents; and her parents-in-law Charles and Clara Reed, sister-in-laws Mildred Babcock, Mavis Moree, Doris Reed and brother-in-laws Ellis Reed and Charles Babcock.

She is survived by her children: Stephanie Chandler and husband Ken of Alpharetta, GA and Chuck Reed and wife Rose of Albuquerque, NM; her grandson Jered Reed and wife Sandy and their daughter Kennedy of Loveland, CO; and her sister Helen Crawley and husband Gene of Brush, CO.  She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 19, 2015 at 10:30 AM at the Elliott Church of Christ in Elliott, IA.  Visitation with the family will be on Wednesday evening from 5-7 PM at the Duhn Funeral Home in Griswold, IA.  Interment will be at the Evergreen Cemetery in Red Oak.  Duhn Funeral Home in Griswold is in charge of arrangements.
