Obituary

Roger Lee Clark, the son of Darrel Newton and Mildred Imogene (Hackett) Clark, was born March 25, 1943 in Council Bluffs, IA and died July 30, 2015 at the Jennie Edmundson Hospital in Council Bluffs, IA at the age of 72 years, 4 months, and 5 days.


Roger attended country school before going to Oakland High School. He graduated from Oakland High School with the class of 1961. After graduating, he helped his father on the farm and served in the Army National Guard. On March 20, 1965 he was united in marriage to Bonnie Frank at the Noble Center Church south of Lyman. Roger and Bonnie moved to a farm west of Oakland before purchasing their current home.


Roger was a member of the Sharon Presbyterian Church. He enjoyed fishing, traveling to Minnesota to see Sheri, going to Colorado, and spending his winters in Arizona.


Roger is preceded in death by his parents; his son Craig Alan; his father-in-law and mother-in-law Clifford and Ina Frank; and his brother-in-law Boyd.


Roger is survived by his wife Bonnie of Oakland; his daughter Sheri Clark of Farmington, MN; his brother Gayle Clark; and his sister Kathy Prince. He is also survived by his nieces nephews, other relatives and friends.


Funeral services will be held at the Sharon Presbyterian Church on Monday, August 3, 2015 at 11:00 AM. Visitation with the family will be on Sunday, August 2, 2015 from 2-4 PM at the Rieken Vieth Funeral Home in Oakland. Interment will be at the Oaklawn Cemetery. Rieken Vieth Funeral Home in Oakland is in charge of arrangements.
