Robyn Lynn Hoye, the daughter of Wallace John Arnold and Kay Marie (Adams) Hoye, was born November 29, 1962 in Council Bluffs, IA. Robyn died, October 9, 2016 at the Cass County Memorial Hospital in Atlantic, IA at the age of 53 years, 10 months, and 10 days.
Robyn attended school in Grant and then Elliott, before graduating from Griswold High School with the class of 1981. She attended the Iowa School of Beauty in Urbandale, IA and worked as a licensed beautician for several years. Robyn then attended Iowa Western Community College and the Methodist College of Nursing, where she earned her Bachelors of Nursing in 1994. Robyn worked at Jennie Edmundson Hospital in Council Bluffs, the Griswold Care Center, and Montgomery County Memorial Hospital before failing health caused her to retire. Robyn lived at home until several days ago when she moved to the Hospice Center at Cass County Memorial Hospital.
Robyn loved everything to do with horses. She enjoyed trail riding and camping. When she wasn't riding horses, she enjoyed music and going to concerts as well as visiting friends in Florida.
She is preceded in death by her father Wallace Hoye on April 2, 2013, and her niece Catie Abeyta.
She is survived by her son Anthony Hoye and wife Desiree of Griswold; her grandchildren, Brayden Alan Beck and Hudson Wallace Hoye of Griswold; her mother Kay Hoye of Griswold, her sisters LeAnn Hoye and husband Rob Abeyta of Denver, CO, and Sheryl Hoye and husband Sunil Dutta of Walnut Creek, CA; her brother David Hoye and wife Lisa of Centennial, CO; her nieces and nephew: Bobbie Abeyta, Nina Dutta, Kirsten Hoye, and Jack Hoye; and her special friend Steve Pavelka of Glenwood, IA. She is also survived by many other relatives and friends.
A celebration of life service will be held on Friday, October 14, 2016 at 10:30 AM at the Griswold United Methodist Church. A private family interment will be held at a later time. Visitation with the family will be on Thursday evening from 5:30 PM until 7:30 PM at the Duhn Funeral Home in Griswold. Duhn Funeral Home in Griswold is in charge of arrangements.
