ROBERTA ROSE GRAY
Roberta Gray, the daughter of Jacob and Rose (Hamm) Briggs, was born January 21, 1918 in Omaha, NE and died on Sunday, August 21, 2011 at the Oakland Manor Nursing Home in Oakland at the age of 93 years.
Roberta attended school at Carson, graduating from Carson High School with the class of 1935. On August 20, 1937 she was united in marriage to Eugene Gray at Council Bluffs, IA. Four children were born to this union: Robert, Ron, Don, and Gary. They lived in Lewis and Griswold before settling in Oakland. Roberta remained in Oakland until the time of her death.
Roberta was a member of the Oakland Christian Church. She enjoyed doing crossword puzzles and fishing. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband Eugene Gray, her parents, her brother Harold, and her daughter-in-law Janelle.
Roberta is survived by her children: Robert Gray and wife Priscilla, Ron Gray and wife LeeAnn, Don Gray and wife Janice, and Gary Gray and wife Judy; twelve grandchildren; and 26 great grandchildren. She is also survived by many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 25, 2011 at 11:00 AM at the Oakland Christian Church. Visitation with the family will be at the Oakland Christian church from 5:30-7:30 PM on Wednesday. Interment will be at the Oaklawn Cemetery at Oakland. Rieken Vieth Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
