Robert 'Bob' Louis Henke, the son of Dennis Lloyd and Margaret Marie (Bausch) Henke, was born November 2, 1941, in West Point, NE. Bob died January 16, 2025, at his home in Oakland, IA, at the age of 83 years, 2 months, and 14 days.

Bob spent his early life in Ewing, NE and Clearwater, NE, before moving to Oakland, IA at the age of 10. He graduated from Oakland High School in 1960 and served in the Army for several years. On May 1, 1965, he married Janet L. Zuch at Zion Congregational Church in Treynor, IA, and they lived in Oakland throughout their married life.

Bob worked at many jobs including farming, Pelgas, Treynor Farm, American Beef, and retired from Bemis Bag Company. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and gardening.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his siblings: Fonda, Donna, Jan, Janet, Dick, and Danny.

He is survived by his wife Janet of Oakland, IA; his siblings: Martha 'Marti' Russell of Oakland, IA, Bill Henke and wife Julie of Earlham, IA, and Joe Henke and wife Diane of Winterset, IA; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

An interment will be held at a later date. Rieken Vieth Funeral Home in Oakland is assisting the family with arrangements.
