Randy E. Allen, the son of Jack D. and Donetta Mae (Ketchum) Allen, was born January 5, 1955, in Harlan, IA. He died June 17, 2019, at the Jennie Edmundson Hospital in Council Bluffs, IA, at the age of 64 years, 5 months, and 12 days.
Randy attended school in Carson, graduating from Carson High School with the class of 1973. On September 24, 1976, he was united in married to AnnaMaren Woodward at the Oakland United Methodist Church. Two children were born to this union, Nick and Brandi. Randy owned and operated Westside Motors before managing AAMCO Transmissions, and he worked at Carson Machinery Auction Company for many years. Most recently he had worked at Ameristar Casino.
Randy loved spending time with his grandchildren. He enjoyed fishing, camping, and running the combine for the Larry Pilling family at harvest. Randy was a great joke teller and had many "one liners". He was an excellent drummer, and had played in several bands, including, the Rebel Country Band and the Jokers. He was a member of the Carson United Methodist Church and the Vice President of the Carson Community Rodeo.
Randy is preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Linda Johnson; and his grandparents, Marshall and Lula Ketchum and Harry and Anna Allen.
He is survived by his wife AnnaMaren Allen of Carson, IA; his children Nick Allen and wife Lisa of Macedonia, IA, and Brandi Moheng and husband Herman of Papillion, NE; his grandchildren: Jackson and Daizy Allen, and Achilles Moheng; and his brother Larry Allen and wife Janel of Carson, IA. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 29, 2019, at 2:00 PM at the Carson United Methodist Church in Carson, IA. Interment will be in the Carson Cemetery. A time of fellowship will be held immediately following the interment, at the Barn and Grill in Carson. A memorial fund has been established. Rieken Vieth Funeral Home in Oakland is in charge of arrangements.
