Pauline M. Haines, the daughter of Roy and Minnie (Meyers) Williams, was born February 28, 1929, in Todd Creek Township, MO. She died December 8, 2019, at the Oakland Manor Nursing Home in Oakland, IA, at the age of 90 years, 9 months, and 10 days.
Pauline lived in Missouri for a short time before moving to Nebraska. She attended high school in Omaha. In 1946, Pauline moved to Oakland, IA. She was united in marriage to Vernon "Shorty" Haines, on October 20, 1948. Pauline worked as a waitress and a cook at Perky's Pantry in Carson. They lived in several different places in the Oakland area, while Shorty farmed. Pauline began working at the Oakland Manor Nursing Home, where she worked for 25 years before retiring. Pauline and Shorty settled in Macedonia in 1970. Pauline continued to live in Macedonia until 2011, when she moved to Oakland Manor.
Pauline loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great-grandchildren. She enjoyed crocheting, reading, gardening, bird watching, and flowers.
Pauline is preceded in death by her husband; her parents; and her brothers: Bob, Ralph, and Junior.
She is survived by her daughters, Peggy Haines of Macedonia, IA, and Nancy Driskell and husband Dale of West Plains, MO; her grandchildren: Trent Driskell, Cheri Huffmaster and husband Danny, Verlin Lee Driskell and wife Joni, and Paula Driskell; her great grandchildren: Michelle Chappell and husband Justin, Abigail Clark and husband Douglas, and Brianne McDaniel and husband Rex; her great great-grandchildren: Rosie, Richard, Maddy, Austin, and Kinsley; her brothers, Richard Williams and wife Connie, and Bill Williams and wife Mary; her sisters-in-law, Janet Williams and Phyllis Haines; and her aunt Beulah Williams. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Funeral services will be on Thursday, December 12, 2019, at 2:00 PM, at the Oakland United Methodist Church. Interment will be in the Macedonia Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be at the Oakland United Methodist Church, Wednesday evening from 5:30 PM until 7:00 PM. Rieken Vieth Funeral Home in Oakland is in charge of arrangements.
