Norma Glass' Obituary
Norma Glass, age 95, of Oakland passed away Friday, July 5, 2013 at the Risen Son Christian Village.
Norma was born to David and Myrtle Achenbach on December 7, 1917 in Macedonia Township.
Norma attended school at Oakland and graduated from Oakland High School with the class of 1936. Norma married Roland Glass in 1940. They lived in Oakland where they owned and operated the Skelly Service Station for many years. After retiring, they loved to travel the country in their motorhome.
Norma is preceded in death by her husband, her parents, her sister Leta Miller, and her brothers Lyle Achenbach and Howard Achenbach.
She is survived by her son Barry Glass and wife Diane of Council Bluffs; her grandson Brett Glass of Council Bluffs; her sister-in-law Janice Harris of Oakland; and two nieces.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 8, 2013 at 11:00 AM at the Oakland United Methodist Church in Oakland. Interment will be at the Oaklawn Cemetery. An open visitation will be held at the funeral home in Oakland on Sunday. The family will not be present at any specific time. Rieken Vieth Funeral Home in Oakland is in charge of arrangements.
