Michael Ryan, 70, of Elliott, IA, died Sunday, March 13, 2011 at his home in Elliott.
Michael Dennis Ryan was born August 31, 1940 at Portland, OR, the son of Raymond Joseph and Florence C. (Williams) Ryan. He graduated from Benson Polytechnic High School in Portland in 1958 and joined the Marines and was stationed at the Marine air facility near Camp Pendleton. Following his service he lived in California, Washington State and Oregon and worked as an over the road truck driver. His most recent marriage was to Kristine Courtney Myers in 1994 and they moved to Elliott in 1995. He worked for Hansen Egg Company in Griswold and for Henningsen Construction in Atlantic until his health forced his retirement in 1998.

He was preceded death by his parents and one brother Raymond James Ryan.

Survivors include his wife Kristine of Elliott and his children Michael of Kent, WA, Dennis and Jeff of Portland, OR, Michelle and Rebecca of Gold Beach, OR, and Christopher J. Ryan of Elliott. Also surviving is a stepdaughter Katelyn of Washington State.

It was Michael's wish that his body was to be cremated and that no services be held. Duhn Funeral Home in Griswold is assisting the family in carrying out his wishes.
