Michael Darrell
Jacobsen
May 5, 1972 – September 5, 2022
Michael Darrell Jacobsen, the son of Darrell Delmond and Kathy Jean (True) Jacobsen, was born May 5, 1972.
Michael died September 5, 2022, in Avoca, IA, at the age of 50 years.
He grew up enjoying truck trips with his father, playing sports, and especially enjoyed vacations with his Grandparents.
After Graduation Michael held many jobs in Road Construction. That was the work he enjoyed.
In 2001 he met Jolaine Mills, and they wed in 2014. He loved and raised Joshua Mills and claimed him as his son, then was blessed with Michael Christan, and then surprised and blessed with Gia Lorraine.
Michael faced many challenges after a life altering accident while working road construction. He had severe pain from that accident and other incidents in his life that lead to him living home with his mother and sister where he passed.
Michael loved his Mother Kathy, his sister Shela, his father-in-law Keith, Jolaine, Joshua, Christan, Gia, Jack the GSD and his own doggie, Ringo. Through his struggles his love never faltered, and he never gave up on being a family with those he loved.
He was loved also. Michael enjoyed serenading his family while he would sing "Right Down the Line" to Jolaine, and Blurred Lines with Gia every chance he got. In the beginning years he enjoyed doing an imitation of Elvis and Waylon Jennings.
In his last months he wrote many messages of Love, believing Love was stronger than anything the Devil could do. Michael's favorite Bible verse was Corinthians 13:13 - Three things will last forever—faith, hope, and love—and the greatest of these is love. This is how his family chooses to remember him; his never-ending Hope and his never-ending Love.
A private interment will take place at Oaklawn Cemetery in Oakland. Rieken Vieth Funeral Home in Oakland is assisting the family.
