Mervin Earl
Larimore
July 20, 1926 – August 25, 2016
Mervin Earl Larimore the son of John and Leta (Bair) Larimore was born in Platte County near Monroe, Nebraska on July 20, 1929. The family moved back to Iowa in 1941. He graduated from Oakland High School in 1948. He attended Iowa Western Community College and received an aircraft A&P license. He was also a licensed small aircraft pilot who enjoyed taking family and friends on pleasure flights.
Mervin enjoyed flying R/C Model Aircraft, he was an avid gardener who loved sharing his produce with family, neighbors, and friends. He also enjoyed golf, hunting, fishing, and wood working. He especially enjoyed building furniture for family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters (Marion & Mildred). He is survived by son Garry Larimore of Omaha, Nebraska and daughter Julie Nallie and husband Robert of Papillion, Nebraska. He is also survived by step children Shawn & Tracy Stevens, Jamie Scofield and wife Tina, Tammy Wahl and husband Dave along with a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and many friends.
There will be an open visitation for family and friends on Wednesday August 31, 2016 from 5-7 PM at the Rieken Vieth funeral home in Oakland, Iowa. Funeral services will held on Thursday September 1, 2016 at 11:00 AM. Interment will be held at the Oakhill Cemetery in Hancock, Iowa.
Luncheon to follow internment at the Methodist Church on Main Street in Oakland, Iowa,
Memorials are suggested in lieu of flowers.
