Mary Ellen Kardell, the daughter of Paul and Greta (Bennett) Felton, was born December 7,1935 on the family farm near Neola, IA. Mary died May 20, 2025, at Madonna Rehab, in Omaha, Ne, at the age of 89 years, 5 months and 13 days.

Mary is survived by her children, Rhonda Birchmier, Beth (David) McDonald, Peggy Kurth, Winston Moffatt, Amy Moffatt, and Wesley (Kathi Aubry) Moffatt, grandchildren, Brooke (Chad) Knop, Blair (Tara) Posegate, Ross (Kate) Posegate, Hannah (Sam) Schrager, Sam McDonald, Brad (Justine) Kurth, Riley (Becca) Kurth, Tyson (Candace) Kurth, and Brian Fitzsimmons; great grandchildren, Rory, Gracen, Slater and Averi Posegate, Torin and Rhoan Posegate, Cade, Jax, Bianca and Dekker Knop, Shelby (Zach) Blum, Trevin and Raylynn Kurth, Lilly, Macie, and Tenly Kurth, Robert and Kaylee Kurth; great great grandchildren, Rhett and Ryker Blum.  Nieces and Nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Franz Kardell, sons-in-law Russell Kurth and Micheal Birchmier, sister Pauline Needham and husband Ward Needham, brother Donald Felton and wife Flora Felton.

A Celebration of Life Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 8, 2025, from 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM, at the Oakland Christian Church in Oakland.  Rieken Vieth Funeral Home in Oakland is assisting the family.
