Mary Colleen Casey, the daughter of James Patrick and Doris Pauline(Silk) Casey, was born August 28, 1951, in Red Oak, IA.  Mary died April 15, 2021, at the Risen Son Christian Village in Council Bluffs, IA, at the age of 69 years, 7 months, and 18 days.

Mary attended country school for several years before starting school in Griswold.  She graduated from Griswold High School with the class of 1969.  While in school, Mary was active in band and 4-H.  Mary then went to school at Ottumwa Heights College.  After graduating, she began working at Atlantic Medical Center as a secretary.  Mary then worked for Pace Electric in Omaha before taking a job at Creighton Hospital.  Mary worked at Creighton Hospital until failing health caused her to retire.  Mary moved to Griswold Care Center in 2014.

Mary was a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church in Griswold.  She loved spending time with her nieces and nephews.  She had been a part of several prayer groups and was a regular at Sunday Mass.  Mary enjoyed going to the movies and was a Husker Football fan.

Mary is preceded in death by her parents; her brother Michael Dean "Mickey", and her nephew John Cartright.

She is survived by her siblings:  Jerry Casey of Griswold, IA, Karen Rudd and husband Harlan of Drakesville, IA, and David Casey of Griswold, IA; her nieces and nephews:  Ryan, Michael, Toni, Janell, Jill, and Jerinda; and many other relatives and friends.

A mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, April 19, 2021, at 10:30 AM, at the Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church in Griswold.  A Rosary will be held on Sunday, April 18, 2021, at 3:00 PM.  Visitation with the family will follow the Rosary until 5:00 PM.  Interment will be in the Catholic Section at Pleasant Township Cemetery.  Rieken Duhn Funeral Home in Griswold is assisting the family.
