MJ, the daughter of Joseph Samuel and Margaret Muriel (Dunn) Gamble, was born December 19, 1956 at Denton, TX, and died June 13, 2013, at University Hospital in Omaha, NE, at the age of 56 years, 5 months, and 25 days.


Martha attended school at Lake Dallas, TX and worked at the Duck Inn while in school. When she was nineteen she enlisted in the United States Air Force. She was combat trained and worked as Military Security at Nellis Air Force Base in Las Vegas, NV. After being honorably discharged, she lived in Lewisville, TX before moving to the Griswold area in 1987. She worked at Dusty's Place before acquiring MJ's grocery store several years ago.


Martha enjoyed playing in the dirt, riding horses, fishing, hunting, and anything to do with nature. She loved spending time with her "granbabies" and with "the girls"


She is preceded in death by her parents; her brother Jimmy McCallum; and her sister Delores Ann McCallum.


She is survived by her best friend and partner Buddy Perdue of Lewis, IA; her children: Keenan Parrette Hardy and wife Kayla Renee of New Orleans, LA, Constance Suzanne Hardy of Stillwater, OK, and Polly DeAnn Calhoun and husband Celby Easton of Oklahoma City, OK; her grandchildren: Keenan, Tallis, Gracen. Madi, Remy, Caydee, Avery, Braxton, Esmee, Sophia, and Celby; and her brothers and sisters: Becky Marlow, Grady Lee McCallum, Linda Kay McCallum, Bobby Don McCallum, Nancy Margo McCallum, Samuel Charles Gamble, Polly Ann Gamble, and Little Bobby McCallum. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

A Celebration of Life Memorial Barbeque will be held on Saturday, June 15, 2013 from 2-5 PM at Tom and Robin Sanbothe's Home at 802 Cass St. in Griswold. There will be no services at the funeral home. Duhn Funeral Home in Griswold is in charge of arrangements.
