Obituary

Marlene Whiley of Mesa, Arizona, formally from Lyman, Iowa died January 16, 2019 at the age of 74 years, 11 months and 15 days.

Marlene was born in Everett, Washington on February 1, 1944. She lived in Macedonia, Iowa and graduated from Macedonia High School. On June 8, 1962 she married Merle D. Whiley at St. Johns United Church of Christ in Lyman, Iowa. To this union, three children were born: Duane, Angela and Tammy. Later in life, they moved to Arizona, living in Chandler and Mesa. She lived there until the time of her death.

Marlene was a member of the St. Johns United Church of Christ of Lyman. She worked at Montgomery Ward in Atlantic, Iowa and at ProChem in Chandler, Arizona. Her hobbies included crocheting, playing cards and spending time with family and friends.

Marlene is preceded in death by her parents; her granddaughter, Rhiannon Marie Whiley; and her brother.

Marlene is survived by her husband, Merle; her children Duane (Robin) Whiley of Kingman, AZ, Angela Whiley of Mesa, AZ and Tammy (Larry) Jameson of San Tan Valley, AZ; her grandchildren: Ryan (fiancé Sami) Whiley, Cortney (Cody) Jameson-Seymore, William Bradley (fiancé Katheryn) Jameson, Wyatt Whiley and Trey Whiley; her great-grandchildren: Cailyn, Raelani and Colt; her three sisters, and numerous nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Graveside Service will be Saturday, June 8, 2019 at 11:00 AM at the St. John's Cemetery south of Lyman, Iowa. Rieken Funeral Home in Griswold, Iowa is assisting the family with arrangements.
