Marlene Mae Robinson, the daughter of Victor and Hazel (Brown) Robinson, was born August 13, 1935 at Oakland, IA and died March 27, 2014 at the Oakland Manor Nursing Home in Oakland, IA at the age of 78 years, 7 months, and 14 days.

Marlene attended country school until the fourth grade, when she moved to town. She graduated from Oakland High School with the class of 1954. After graduating, she worked for the Oakland Acorn Newspaper. Marlene lived at home until several months ago, when she moved to the Oakland Manor Nursing Home.

Marlene enjoyed sewing and reading.

She is preceded in death by her parents.

She is survived by her sister Marilyn Robinson of Oakland; and her cousins Greg and Jeff Robinson.

Marlene has been cremated. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Rieken Vieth Funeral Home in Oakland is in charge of arrangements.
