Mark Alan Wilson

Mark Alan Wilson, the son of Gerald and Bette Wilson, was born February 22, 1959 in Council Bluffs, IA and died March 4, 2012 at Mercy Hospital in Council Bluffs, IA at the age of 53 years and 11 days.

Mark attended school at Oakland and graduated from Oakland High School with the class of 1978. He then went to Iowa Western Community College where he took classes to become an auto technician. He returned to Oakland, where he worked with his father at Wilson's Garage. He was united in marriage to Lynne Young. Mark continued to live in Oakland until the time of his death.

Mark enjoyed hunting, fishing, and watching sports. He especially loved spending time with his children and going to their different activities.

Mark is preceded in death by his mother Bette and his grandparents.

He is survived by his two children, Dane Wilson of Oakland and Caitlin Wilson of Pella; his father Gerald Wilson and wife Carol of Oakland; his brothers, Dan Wilson and wife Kaleigh of Oakland and Steven Wilson of Omaha; and his nephews: Cole. Quinn, and Jordan.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 8, 2012 at 2:00 PM at the Oakland United Methodist Church in Oakland. An open visitation will be held at the Rieken Vieth Funeral Home in Oakland and the family will be present at the funeral home to receive friends from 5:00 PM until 7:30 PM. Memorials may be donated to the Riverside Booster Club or the Riverside Wrestling Club. Rieken Vieth Funeral Home in Oakland is in charge of arrangements.
