Margaret Louise Nicholas
Margaret Louise Nicholas, the daughter of James and Ethel (Morse) Carter, was born August 4, 1920 at Skidmore, MO and died August 3, 2012 at the Montgomery County Hospital in Red Oak, IA at the age of 91 years, 11 months, and 30 days.
Margaret graduated from Graham High School and then attended Northwest Missouri State University. After graduation, she taught country school for several years at Plum Grove School near Braddyville, IA. She was united in marriage to Carl Nicholas and they farmed near Braddyville for several years before moving to Arizona. Margaret worked at Tucson Medical Center before moving back to Iowa in November of 2004.
Margaret enjoyed gardening, working in the yard and flowers.
She is preceded in death by her husband; her parents; her brother Lester; and her sisters-in-law Doris and Mildred
Margaret is survived by her brothers Richard Carter and wife Lois of Barnard, MO and Robert Carter and wife Willa of Carson, IA. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, August 7, 2012 at 11:00 AM at the Walkup Cemetery east of Fairfax, MO. There will be no local services. Rieken Vieth Funeral Home in Oakland is in charge of arrangements.
