Margaret Ann (Shanno) Johnson, the daughter of Lawrence and Jessie (Reese) Shanno, was born January 3, 1934 in Oakland, IA.  She died February 23, 2019, at the Mercy Hospital in Council Bluffs, IA, at the age of 85 years, 1 month, and 20 days.

Margaret attended school in Oakland. She and Caroll married at the Oakland Christian Church on August 21, 1950, and to this union four children were born; Carol, Lloyd, Ronnie Lee, and Rodney. They lived in Colorado and Wisconsin before returning to the Oakland area. After Carroll's retirement, they moved to Texas for a short time before returning to Oakland in 1991.

Margaret was a member of the Oakland Christian Church. She enjoyed bowling and watching television. She loved gardening and listening to gospel and country music.

Margaret is preceded in death by her husband Caroll on March 29, 2015; her parents; her son Rodney; her son in law Del; and daughter in law Bonnie.

She is survived by her daughter, Carol Larsen of Oakland, IA; her sons Lloyd and Ronnie Lee Johnson of Council Bluffs, IA; her sister Dorothy Van Pilsum of Norwalk, IA; her brother Robert Shanno of Phoenix, AZ; and many grandchildren and great grandchildren, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be on Friday, March 1, 2019 at 11:00 AM at the Rieken Vieth Funeral Home in Oakland. Visitation with the family will be on Thursday, February 28, 2019, from 4-6 PM at the Rieken Vieth Funeral Home in Oakland. Interment will be in the Oaklawn Cemetery in Oakland. Rieken Vieth Funeral Home in Oakland is in charge of arrangements.
