Madeline Marie "Mickey" Hiley, the daughter of Salvatore and Carmela (Resuglia) Molletta, was born December 24, 1927, in Omaha, NE.  She died October 5, 2024, at Griswold Nursing and Rehab in Griswold, IA, at the age of 96 years, 9 months, and 12 days.

Mickey attended school in Omaha, graduating from Central High School.  After graduating, she worked at Watson Brothers Trucking.  On June 27, 1954, she was united in marriage to Jack Henry Hiley, Sr. at St Philamenas Catholic Church.  Two children were born to this union, Jack Jr. and Eileen.  They lived in Carson and Oakland, before moving to Griswold in 1958.  Jack died September 18, 1997.  Mickey continued to live in Griswold and on December 28, 2002, she was united in marriage to Verlyn Rice. Verlyn died September 12, 2013.  Mickey continued to live in Griswold until the time of her death.

Mickey was a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church in Griswold.  She also had been a member of the Grant Garden Club.  She enjoyed doing needlepoint, working in her flower beds, and ceramics, and had taught ceramic classes for many years.  She especially loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husbands Jack and Verlyn; her parents; and her siblings: Frances (John) Drelicharz, Sara (Tony) Gulizia, Charlotte (Eugene) Prisch, Josephine (Frank) Lupina, and Joseph (Rita) Molletta.

She is survived by her children Jack Hiley Jr. and wife Maribeth of Valley, NE, and family,  and Eileen Sindt and husband Rod of Griswold, IA; grandchildren: Lindsay Stuehm and husband Jon, Abby Sindt, and Bradley Sindt, all of Omaha, NE, and Jaimie Hiley of Asheville, NC; great grandchildren, Cash and Presley Stuehm; and many other relatives and friends.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, October 10, 2024, at 10:30 AM, at the Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church in Griswold.  Visitation with the family will take place one hour prior to the funeral mass at the church.  A private interment will be at Pleasant Township Cemetery south of Griswold.  Rieken Duhn Funeral Home in Griswold is assisting the family with arrangements.
