Lorene Eppelsheimer, the daughter of Ross and Alma (Meyer) Eppelsheimer, was born on a farm in Nobel Township on June 3, 1930. She died January 10, 2017 at Atlantic Specialty Care in Atlantic, IA at the age of 96 years, 7 months, and 8 days.

Lorene attended Pringey rural school to receive her elementary education. She then attended Drake University, where she received her bachelor of science. Lorene taught at several rural schools and in Grant and Elliott for the Griswold School District. When she retired, she had taught a total of 43 years. Lorene lived in Griswold until recently when she moved to Atlantic Specialty Care.

Lorene accepted Christ as her Lord in June of 1935. After moving to Griswold, she became a member of the Griswold Central Church of Christ. Lorene loved working in her flower gardens and the yard. She especially enjoyed working with her roses. She also enjoyed reading and studying the Bible.

She is preceded in death by her parents.

She is survived by her cousins; and other relatives and friends.
