Obituary

Linda Jean Petersen, the daughter of Walter and Barbara (Bain) Walker, was born September 21, 1949, in Kansas City, Kansas.  She died May 5, 2020, at Mercy Hospital in Council Bluffs, IA, at the age of 70 years, 11 months, and 12 days.

Linda moved to Omaha, NE in the 1960's when her mother's job tranferred from Kansas.  She graduated from Westside High School in 1967, and then graduated from Omaha Public School of License Practical Nursing in Omaha.  Linda worked in Omaha and Las Vegas as a nurse.  Because of her extensive background in medicine, she was offered a job with Principal Insurance processing medical claims.  After Linda retired, she moved to Oakland to be closer to her family.

Linda loved spending time with her family and attending all her grandchildren's school events.  She enjoyed traveling, bird-watching, and camping.  She had served as a Blue Birds and Girl Scout leader and had taught confirmation at Faith Westwood United Methodist Church in Millard.

She is preceded in death by her parents.

She is survived by her daughters Kris Salais of Oakland, IA, and Kim Burns and husband David of Henderson, NV; her grandchildren: Deven Moore and his fiancée Amber Musil, Braeton Moore, Cole Moore, Ayden Salais, Tyler Jennings, and Justin Jennings; her brother Ron Walker and wife Mary; several nieces; and many friends.
