Linda May (Peters) Palmer, the daughter of Ralph and Ruth (Benscoter) Peters was born May 16, 1939 in Harlan, IA. Linda died on Thursday, March 2, 2023 at the Griswold Care Center where she had been a resident since 2018 at the age of 83 years, 9 months, and 17 days.

Linda graduated from Walnut High School in 1957. After graduation Linda left Iowa and took a train to Washington, D.C. and started her job with the F.B.I. While living and working in Washington, D.C. she met a Marine on leave, Bruce E. Palmer, who she later married in 1958 in Kanohoe Bay, Oahu, Hawaii, where Bruce was stationed. She worked many different jobs over the years and moved numerous times, eventually living in Griswold.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents.

She is survived by her children Donna Forsyth and her husband Steve, Griswold, IA, Rick Palmer and his wife Mary, Chariton, IA, Greg Palmer and his wife Kim, Griswold, IA, and Angie Boyd of Des Moines, IA. Her grandchildren Jessica Forsyth, Cassie Forsyth, Josh (Brooke) Palmer, Jeremy (Taylor) Palmer, Melanie Palmer, Nikki (Trent) Lilly, James (Donna) Boyd and great grandchildren Airika, Markus, Justin, Jordyn, Samson, and two more expected in June; her brother Bruce Peters and his wife Arlene, Corning, IA and many other relatives and friends.

A private graveside service will be held at a later date at the Griswold Cemetery.

The Rieken Duhn Funeral Home in Griswold is in charge of arrangements.
