Kristin Lee Grobe Judkins

Kristin Lee Judkins, the daughter of Calvin and Deanne (Gaskell) Grobe, was born April 27, 1978 in Omaha, NE and died February 19, 2013 in Lincoln, NE at the age of 34 years 9 months, and 23 days.

Kristin attended school at Albert City, IA and then started high school in Hinton, IA. In 1996, she graduated from North High in Sioux City, IA. On June 3, 2000 she was united in marriage to Garrik Judkins at Lawton, IA. They had one daughter, Hannah. They lived in Sioux City and then McPherson, KS before settling in Lincoln, NE. Kristin purchased the White Orchid Spa in 2009, which she continued to own and operate until the time of her death.

Kristin enjoyed doing karaoke, tailgating at Husker games, NASCAR, helping with local charities, and telling jokes. She was known for her mischievous smile, infectious laugh and ability to light up a room when she walked in.

She is preceded in death by her paternal and maternal grandparents.

She is survived by her husband Garrik and their daughter Hannah, both of Lincoln; her mother and father, Calvin and Deanne Grobe of Oakland, IA; her sisters: Lesley Krummel and husband Michael of Walnut, IA, Nicole Monson and husband Scott of Clear Lake, IA, and Kathryn Meinders and husband Bryan of Lincoln, NE; 5 nieces, 6 nephews, 3 great nieces, and 3 great nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 23, 2013 at 1:00 PM at the Oakland United Methodist Church, 200 Main St., Oakland, Iowa. Visitation with the family will be on Friday from 5:00-7:30 PM at the Oakland United Methodist Church. Interment will be at the Oaklawn Cemetery. Rieken Vieth Funeral Home in Oakland is in charge of arrangements.
