KIM SUE PIERSON FARRELL


Kim Sue Farrell, the daughter of Richard Floyd and Peggy Lou (McConnell) Pierson, was born March 3, 1963 at Council Bluffs and died June 6, 2012 at Council Bluffs, at the age of 49 years, 3 months, and 3 days.


Kim attended school at Oakland and graduated from Oakland High School with the class of 1981. After graduating, she attended DMAAC in Ankeny and earned her associates degree in fashion merchandising. She worked in Des Moines and Omaha before moving to Florida, where she worked for Marriott. On October 20, 1990 Kim was united in marriage to Mark Farrell. They lived in Florida until 2004, when they moved to Council Bluffs.


Kim was a member of the Oakland United Methodist Church. She enjoyed decorating, working in the yard, and swimming. Kim enjoyed remaining active in the activities that were taking place in her hometown.


Kim is preceded in death by her father Richard; her mother-in-law Sonia Bahlay; and her father-in-law Patrick Joseph Farrell.


She is survived by her husband Mark of Council Bluffs; her mother Peggy Pierson of Oakland; her brother Kent Pierson and wife Lisa of Oakland; her brother-in-law Tom Farrell of Cary, NC; her sister-in-law Kathy Kain and husband Kevin of Swedesboro, NJ; and her nieces: Camryn, Allyee, Kristen, Karen, Kellie, Mary Kate, and Meghan Riley. She is also survived by many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 12, 2012 at 10:30 AM at the Oakland United Methodist Church. Visitation with the family will be held at the Oakland United Methodist Church on Monday from 5-7:30 PM. Interment will be at a later date. Rieken Vieth Funeral Home in Oakland is in charge of arrangements.
