Kennith F. Halverson, 73, of Exira, IA, died at the Audubon County Memorial Hospital in Audubon, IA, on Saturday, May 30, 2009.
Kennith Frank Halverson was born at Omaha, NE, on June 6, 1935, the son of Frank and Doris (Barber) Halverson. He attended schools in Omaha and went to work for FBG Services Inc. (a commercial and janitorial building and maintenance company) and was employed with them for 28 years, mostly as a window washer, until a fall forced his retirement on disability. On November 30, 1954, he married Irma Jewell at Omaha. To this union 6 children were born and after 37 years this union ended in divorce.
Survivors include his 3 sons, Kenny and Robbie of Omaha and Alan of Council Bluffs, his 3 daughters, Nina Guthrie of Arkansas, Dee Dee Springer and Diane Douglas both of Griswold, his 9 grandchildren and his 2 great-grandchildren. Also surviving is his sister Bernice, his former wife Irma Halverson of Omaha and his special friend Carol Haddad and her daughter Kathy and family of Exira.
Kennith died at the Audubon County Memorial Hospital in Audubon, IA, on Saturday, May 30, 2009 at the age of 73 years, 11 months and 24 days. Preceding Kennith in death were his parents, 3 brothers and one sister.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 4, 2009, at 11:00 AM at the Duhn Funeral Home in Griswold, Pastor Leila Blackburn of the Griswold United Methodist Church officiating. Following the funeral, cremation will take place. There will be no open visitation at the funeral home prior to 9:30 AM on Thursday when the family will meet friends at the funeral home.
