Kenneth "Kenny" Robert Evans, the son of Robert and Doris (Nolte) Evans, was born June 11, 1952 in Atlantic, IA. He died March 3, 2018, at the Cass County Memorial Hospital in Atlantic, IA, at the age of 65 years, 8 months, and 20 days.

Kenny attended school in the Griswold Community School District, graduating from Griswold High School with the class of 1971. On June 14, 1975, he was united in marriage to Charlotte Baier at the Exira Lutheran Church in Exira, IA. They lived in Griswold for several years before moving to their current residence East of Griswold. Kenny had worked for Walnut Grove Research Farm, had driven a truck, and had helped farm his parents farm. The last several years, he had farmed full time.

Kenny was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Griswold, the Optimist Club, Nishna Valley Wings, FFA Alumni, and the NRA. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle, taking trips with his family (especially to Branson, MO), and hunting. He liked going for coffee and doughnuts at the Tiger Mart every morning, and he never knew a stranger. Kenny loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.


Kenny is preceded in death by his niece Nichole Lennon, and his mother-in-law and father-in-law Robert and Ruth Elaine Baier.

He is survived by his wife Charlotte Evans of Griswold, IA; his children: Leah Schmidt and husband Paul of Harlan, IA, Ryan Evans and wife Jessie of Griswold, IA, and Katie Kelly and husband Doug of Griswold, IA; his grandchildren: Clara, Evan, Robert, Erin, Logan, Collin, and Miley; his parents Robert and Doris Evans; his sisters, Kathy Butler and husband Gail of Atlantic, IA, and Julie Tjepkes and husband Curt of Grundy Center, IA; and his sister-in-law Barb Weiderholt and husband Jack of Fort Dodge, IA. Kenny is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 7, 2018 at 11:00 AM at the Faith Lutheran Church in Griswold. Visitation with the family will be on Tuesday, March 6, 2018 from 5-7 PM at the Griswold Community Building. Interment will be in the Flint Cemetery. Rieken Duhn Funeral Home in Griswold is in charge of arrangements.
