Jonathan "Jon" White, 42, of Griswold, IA, died Monday, August 2, 2010, at the Montgomery County Memorial Hospital in Red Oak, IA.

Jonathan James White was born December 16, 1967, at Bellflower, CA, the son of Ronald James "Jim" and Janice Dorothy Krummel White. He graduated from Griswold High School in the class of 1986 and worked for Dale Thornton Moving and Storage for several years before he moved to the Des Moines area and worked for Container Recovery. In 1997, he moved to Red Oak and went to work for Asplund Tree Service and then for a short time worked for Upland Tree Service before starting his own tree service business – "Risky Business Tree Service" in 2008 when he moved back to Griswold. Jon was a member of Faith Lutheran Church.

Jon was preceded in death by an infant son, Logan in 1995.

Jon is survived by his children, Dakota White and Makelti White of Red Oak and Kylia White of Springfield, MO; his granddaughter Makenzie White of Springfield; his parents Jim and Jan White of Griswold; his special friend Megan Ebke of Griswold; his sisters Michelle Moore of Prineville, OR, and Laura (Clay) Clement of Oakland, IA. Also surviving are his niece and nephews, Nick and Nate Wright of Oakland, IA and Emily, Colin, and Brendan Moore of Gallup, NM as well as many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 7, 2010 at 11:00 AM at the Faith Lutheran Church in Griswold, Pastor Celeste Waymire officiating. Following the service, cremation will take place and burial of ashes will be at a later date in Griswold Cemetery. Open visitation will be at the Duhn Funeral Home in Griswold and the family will be present from 6:00 to 7:30 Friday evening. A memorial fund has been established in Jon's name.
