John Fichter, son of Donald and Joan (McConnel) Fichter, born on January 15, 1951, in Red Oak, Iowa. He died Thursday, November 30, 2017 at Good Samaritan Society, in Red Oak, Iowa at the age of 66 years, 10 months and 15 days.

John graduated from Griswold High School. After graduation, he was drafted into the Army. After being discharged, he returned to Griswold. John worked as a truck driver and a bartender before going to work for Henningsen Construction. John lived in Griswold until several years ago, when failing health caused him to move to Red Oak.

John was processed in death by his parents.

John is survived by his son, Nicholas Fichter of North Dakota; several grandchildren; two brothers, Dennis Fichter of Griswold, Iowa and Ronald of Clarksville, Tennessee; and other family and friends.
