John M. Camizzi died May 12, 2015 at Oakland Manor, Oakland, Iowa after a long battle with cancer. Family and friends will gather for remembrances of his life on May 23, 2015 at the Vernon Bar and Grill, 2035 Mt. Vernon Road SE, Cedar Rapids, Iowa from 2 – 5 pm. Inurnment will be on May 23, 2015 at 11 am at Cedar Memorial Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
John was born January 25, 1957 and was a son of Francis and Grace Camizzi, Cedar Rapids. John loved the outdoors, fishing, and enjoyed riding his bicycles and motorcycles. He loved his dogs, Taz and Snowball. He was employed at various jobs but enjoyed most being an over-the-road semi driver for many years.
John is survived by his son, Jordan, Lone Tree, Iowa and daughter, Emily, Hills, Iowa and his sister, Charissa (Allan) Olson, Thompson, Iowa. The last six years of his life was spent with Peggy Haines of Macedonia, Iowa. John will be dearly missed by his family and his friends.
John was preceded in death by his parents.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be sent to Peggy Haines at P. O. Box 173, Macedonia, Iowa, 51549 to help defray expenses.
