Johanne Magrethe (Sorensen) Green, 86, Known to most as "Hanne" of Avoca IA, Passed away on October 1, 2015 in route to Creighton University Hospital in Omaha NE.
Hanne was born September 13, 1929 in Hirtshals, Denmark to Jenny Hejlesen and Emil Jacobsen. Hanne was later adopted by Marius Sorensen when Marius and Jenny married.
Hanne came to America at the age of 16. Hanne was working as a Nanny in Denver, CO when she met Harold V. Green and they were married on Oct. 6, 1950. Had Hanne lived, on Oct 6th 2015 they would have celebrated their 65th Wedding Anniversary, short only a few days.
Hanne and Harold had 2 children, David of Avoca IA and Bobette Broadhead (Green) of Spanish Fork, Utah.
Hanne is survived by her Husband Harold, Children David and Bobette, Brothers Paul and Soren Sorensen, Sister Marian (Sorensen) Landon, many Grandchildren, Great Grandchildren, Nieces, Nephews, and many, many dear friends.
Hanne's wishes were to be Cremated with "no fuss" and did not want any type of "Funeral" or "Services". Cremation done through Rieken Vieth Funeral Home in Oakland IA.
