Jerry Bice

Jerry Lee Bice, the son of Walter LeRoy and Dolores Bice was born June 28, 1961 in Atlantic, IA and died March 18, 2014 at his home in Des Moines, IA at the age of 52 years, 8 months, and 18 days.

Jerry attended elementary school in Lewis, before graduating from Griswold High School, with the class of 1979. He began working at the Oakland Packing Plant before moving to Des Moines. He worked at several different places before going to work for Hewlett-Packard Company as a fork lift operator.

Jerry was known for his good work ethic. He enjoyed reading and watching television. He had enjoyed being in 4-H when he was younger, and had shown the grand champion heifer at the Cass County Fair.

Jerry is preceded in death by his grandparents, Carl and Bea Hancock and Rolland and Meredith Bice and his brother-in-law Russell Bradburn.

He is survived by his parents Walter LeRoy and Dolores Bice of Griswold; his sisters: Debra Bradburn of Rialto, CA, Karla Piersol and husband Jim of Sioux City, IA, and Lana Thompson of Lake Ozark, MO; and his brother Keith Bice and wife Brenda of Columbus, NE.  He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, April 21, 2014 at 10:30 AM at the Congrational-Methodist Church in Lewis. Interment will be at the Oakwood Cemetery in Lewis. Duhn Funeral Home in Griswold is in charge of arrangements.
