Janet Lee Weaver, the daughter of Lee Roy "Pete" and Werdna Maxine (Dean) Davis, was born August 21, 1948 in Red Oak, Iowa.  Janet entered into eternal peace on January 3, 2024, in Omaha, NE, at the age of 75 years, 4 months, and 13 days.

Janet's early years were spent in the Elliott community.  It was here that she attended primary school.  She graduated from Griswold High School with the Class of 1966.  On November 16, 1969 she was united in marriage to Dell Weaver.  The couple lived in LeMars, Iowa for a short time, before settling in Griswold. This marriage would be blessed with the birth of five children; Jennifer, Karrie, Wendi, Ryan and Lindsey.

She held a variety of jobs over the years.  She especially enjoyed her time at Reflections in Fabric, Specialized Support Services and most recently at the Elliott Public Library.  The job she enjoyed the most was being a wonderful stay at home mom and caring for her grandchildren.  Those moments brought her so much joy.

She was a member of the Griswold United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday School, was a choir member, sang at many Cantata's, served on several committees and enjoyed doing special church projects.  Most recently she had been attending the United Church of Hope in Elliott.  Her time there allowed her to reconnect with old friends and meet many new ones.  Her favorite project was helping to organize the spring breakfast alongside her dear friend Marcia Anderson.  Other interests included scrapbooking, ceramics, gardening, decorating her home for the holidays and attending all of her grandchildrens activities.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her in-laws, sister Marilyn and brother-in-law Gary Bridger.  Those left to cherish her memory include her husband Dell: children Jennifer Reynolds and husband Jason, Karrie Weaver, Wendi Weaver, Ryan Weaver and fiancee, Shelly Bass and Lindsey Weis and husband Josh; grandchildren James, Jake, Jenna and Joey Reynolds, Alayna Preston and Sloan Weis; sister Cathy Zimmerman; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of dear friends.

Because of inclement weather, visitation has been rescheduled to Wednesday evening from 5-7 PM, at the Rieken Duhn Funeral Home in Griswold. A memorial service will still be held on Wednesday, January 10, 2024, at 11:00 AM, at the Elliott United Church of Hope in Elliott.  Interment will be in the Flint Cemetery at a later date.  Rieken Duhn Funeral Home in Griswold is assisting the family.
