Iola Mae Steiber, the daughter of Fred and Katie (Stevens) Dorscher, was born January 20, 1926, on a farm northeast of Oakland, IA. Iola died March 31, 2022, at Atlantic Specialty Care Center in Atlantic, IA at the age of 96 years, 2 months, and 11 days.

She grew up on the family farm with her two brothers and two sisters and attend Valley township school #8.

On January 20,1944, Jim and Iola were married and farmed in rural Henderson area.

Iola enjoyed working on the farm; having a garden; flower beds; doing embroidery; making quilts; playing cards and traveling with her family to find Coca Cola memorabilia.

She was preceded in death by her husband Jim on January 21, 1999; her parents; a sister Esther Ballew; two brothers Richard Dorscher and Leo(Doc) Dorscher.

Iola is survived by her daughters Joann Steiber of Waukee, IA, Cathy and husband Merlin Eshelman of Atlantic, IA, grandson Michael Eshelman of Phoenix, AZ, one sister Peggy Taylor of Oakland, IA and many nieces and nephews.

A visitation and viewing with the family will be held on Sunday, April 3, 2022, from 3 to 5 PM at the Rieken Vieth Funeral Home in Oakland, IA. A private family interment will take place at Oaklawn Cemetery. Rieken Vieth Funeral Home in Oakland is assisting the family.
